When prospective patients search Google for a chiropractor in your area, they are presented with many results. For example when a prospective patient searches for “chiropractic new york” there are over two million results. That is a lot of direct competition! For chiropractic websites to be found by these prospective patients, you will need to be listed within the first few pages of results, as research shows most people do not look much past the third page.

So, with millions of results, how is it possible to compete and not miss out on these prospective patients?

One of the most important things you can do to rank higher in the search engines and attract these chiropractic patients is to include a proper Title Tag on your chiropractic website. Out of the millions of search results, I discovered that only 16,000 included a proper Title Tag. That’s less than one percent! This pattern was visible with many other cities. For example, Florida showed the competition at over 1,500,000 and only 18,000 included a proper Title Tag.

A Title Tag is the name of that particular web page. It’s a short overview of what your web page is about and is the first thing that the search engines see when they decide to rank your web page. I see hundreds of chiropractic websites that have their Title Tag say “Home” or “Welcome to.” These sites are rarely, if ever, found through the search engines by prospective patients. If you want to attract more chiropractic patients, you should include the words chiropractic or chiropractor along with your city in your Title Tag.

Google says, “Make sure your title tags are descriptive and accurate. Consider the title tag a place to showcase the most important topic for each page.” More and more prospective patients are finding their chiropractors online. By following this advice, you will have a greater chance of outranking your competition and attracting more chiropractic patients into your office every single month.
